Hair PRP is a popular regenerative treatment designed to combat hair thinning and loss by utilizing the body’s natural healing properties. It’s particularly effective for individuals experiencing hair weakening, rare hair, or early stages of hair loss.
1. Blood Collection:
o A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient's arm.
2. Centrifugation:
o The blood sample is placed in a centrifugation machine, which spins it at high speed to separate its components.
o The result is plasma rich in platelets, which are crucial for tissue repair and regeneration.
3. Injection:
o The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is extracted and injected into areas of the scalp where hair is thinning or weak.
o Local anesthesia is used to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
• Stimulates Hair Growth: Encourages dormant hair follicles to grow new, healthy strands.
• Prevents Hair Loss: Strengthens hair roots to reduce shedding.
• Nourishes Hair Follicles: Improves scalp health and supports robust hair growth.
• Natural and Safe: Uses the patient’s own plasma, reducing the risk of allergic reactions.
• Boosts Confidence: Particularly beneficial for men with a family history of hair loss.
Ideal Candidates
• Individuals with thinning hair or mild to moderate hair loss.
• Men and women experiencing genetic-pattern baldness.
• Patients looking for a non-surgical solution to hair restoration.
Treatment Details
• Duration: 60–90 minutes per session.
• Recovery: Immediate; patients can resume daily activities on the same day.
• Pain Level: Minimal, as local anesthesia is administered.
• Number of Sessions: 3–5 sessions are typically recommended, spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
Patients with sparse, thinning, and significant hair loss are candidates for PRP treatment. Those with a positive genetic predisposition should consider PRP to prevent hair loss from an early age. Anyone with weak hair that desires thicker and stronger strands and individuals who have had hair transplantation can use PRP for added support.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is collected by drawing blood from the patient's arm and processing it in a centrifuge to separate the platelets, which are then injected into the scalp to promote hair regrowth and reduce hair loss.
It takes approximately 25-45 minutes.
Ensure you have adequate sleep and eat before the treatment to avoid lightheadedness. Avoid taking blood thinners such as aspirin, painkillers like NSAIDs and ibuprofen, and discontinue any anticoagulants, herbs, supplements, and vitamins associated with blood thinning 6 weeks before the treatment.
Individuals with a bleeding disorder or a history of cancer are not suitable for this treatment. If your platelet count is insufficient, the treatment may not be effective, so it is important to have a lab test beforehand. You are also advised against this treatment if you have Hepatitis C, HIV, cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases, skin cancer, or an active infection.
You may start to notice your hair becoming thicker, an improvement in its texture, and new hair growth after 2 weeks. However, to achieve measurable results, treatment should be continued for 3-6 months.
Initially, it is recommended to have treatments twice a month for 2-3 months, followed by maintenance sessions every 6 months.
For 6-8 hours post-treatment, do not massage or rub the area. Patients should not swim or shower for at least 8 hours after the procedure. Avoid strenuous exercise, smoking, and exposure to extreme heat or cold for 3 days. Ensure you drink plenty of water for hydration and eat healthy meals for nourishment.
